Stakeholder briefing on national energy guarantee

Energy Security Board Independent Chair Dr Kerry Schott is holding a live webinar on the national energy guaranteeKerry will discuss the proposed mechanism, as outlined in the Energy Security Board’s advice to the Commonwealth government, and the next steps towards a power system with reliable energy, reduced emissions and improved affordability.
The national energy guarantee is due to be considered at the next COAG Energy Council meeting in late November. If ministers decide to proceed, broad consultation and detailed design will follow.
The presentation will be followed by a live question and answer session. Stakeholders will be able to submit their questions online during the webinar.
This is a public event open to anyone with an interest in Australia’s energy future.
Dr Kerry Schott AO
Kerry is Chair of the Energy Security Board, Chair of Moorebank Intermodal Company, a Director of NBN, and a Director of TCorp NSW. She also Chairs the Assurance Board for Sydney Metro, and is a member of the Advisory Board for City and SouthEast Light Rail. Kerry was Managing Director and CEO of Sydney Water from 2006 to 2011. Before that Kerry spent 15 years as an investment banker, including as Managing Director of Deutsche Bank and Executive Vice President of Bankers Trust Australia. During this time she specialised in privatisation, restructuring, and infrastructure provision. Prior to becoming an investment banker Kerry was a public servant and an academic.
