The new Franchising Code:
what you need to know and do now

9 December 2014

Are you a franchisor, or a current or prospective franchisee? Do you provide professional advice to franchisors or franchisees?

If so, then watch this free webinar to find out about the new Franchising Code of Conduct, which will take effect on 1 January 2015.

As well as a general overview of the new Franchising Code, the webinar covers certain topics in some detail, including:
  • the new obligation of good faith and what this means for you
  • disclosure obligations and what changes you will need to make
  • the ACCC’s Compliance and Enforcement Policy which will influence when the ACCC is likely to issue an infringement notice or take a matter to court under the new Code.
The webinar was hosted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), which is the government agency responsible for administering and enforcing the Franchising Code.

This free webinar was led by ACCC Deputy Chair, Dr Michael Schaper.
